KOTOR > ME
So I'm playing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and I really like it. But you know what pains me? To know that BioWare goes from making great games like KOTOR (and before that Baldur's Gate) to Mass Effect 2. Why, oh why didn't they leave the RPG elements in. Why did they feel the need to 'streamline' it? So, I played it and found that Mass Effect was actually okay regardless (BioWare called it an RPG, but it really wasn't). Yes it was streamlined but it was still a good story. And so I enjoyed Mass Effect (even though BioWare was slandering every other good RPG in the market) and let the RPG monikor slide. Through the course of the game I visited several planets, met lots of aliens (and even recruited them along the way) and had an over all good time.

2012, The Year of the RPG
So the past few years I had set some rather lofty goals in terms of gaming. Last year, for example, I set a goal to beat 50 games. That took some serious game time to pull off.
For 2012, I'm going a different direction. This year, it won't be about quantity at all. Out of necessity, in order to meet the target number in 2011, I deliberately avoided RPGs. This year however, I think it's going to be all about RPGs.
